B.B.Y.C LEARN TO SAIL
On the 30th of November Howick Primary School room 1 went to B.B.Y.C (Bucklands Beach Yacht Club) so we could learn to sail. We had some banta with the sailing teachers about how to sail before we hopped in the little optimust boats. I was sailing with the AMAZING JOE NICHOLLS! First I was on the tiller and the rudder, Joe was on the main-sheet. Joe and I were swerving all around and crashing into other boats. Joe even ended up getting the bailer and pouring it onto other people and there boats. We were acting as if we were military personnel.
Next were the races they were very tense , especially when we were near the finish line. There were three races. On the first and second race we went round and round waiting for the races to start and we came an amazing third place. Apart from the last race (where we came a shocking third to last place), we did do pretty well when you consider that it was Joe’s first ever time sailing and I had only been sailing thrice in my life.
It was back to free sailing and that's when the water wars began tipping water everywhere, the speed boats were using water guns. Joe “accidentally” poured the bailer onto my head about ten Quintilian times.
About five minutes after that we came up with a master plan to distract Mrs Pittaway while Lukas and James sneak attacked her, the plan was a success. Soon after that Joe wanted to try to sail by himself so we came up with a new plan, I hop on a motor boat and use the water gun to spray everybody with the exception of Joe. The plan worked resplendently but then…
It was 2:30 we had to go back to school, I was so disappointed my face even went like this ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽ . The sailing teachers thanked us for coming and we thanked them for letting us come we got back to school and i was super sad an amazing day of sailing was over so was the school day.
